Product Description

GFD2000 fiber optic LNB Dongle is a compact satellite TV fiber optic receiver installed at the RF port of satellite STB. Working with Greatway GLB3500MT optical transmitter, GFD2000 LNB dongle converts optical signal into Satellite RF.  Powered by the 13V/18V DC from satellite receiver, GFD2000 outputs high quality satellite transponders by gain flattened design. GFD2000 has excellent satellite MER at extremely low optical input power (such as -18dBm).  

Direct Broadcasting Satellite (DBS) and Direct to Home (DTH) are the most popular way to enjoy satellite TV worldwide. To do it, satellite antenna, coaxial cable, splitter or multi-switcher and satellite receiver are necessary.  However, satellite antenna installation might be difficult to the subscribers living in the apartments. SMATV (satellite mater antenna TV) is a good solution for people living in the building or community to share one satellite dish and terrestrial TV antenna. With fiber cable, SMATV RF signal can be delivered to 30Km far away or distributed to 32 apartments directly, to 320 or 3200 or 32000 apartments via GWA3530 fiber optic amplifier.

GLB3500MT can convert maximum 32UB from one satellite or four satellites into 1550nm fiber via external satellite converter. 20dBm high power version GLB3500MT-D20 can drive 512pcs GFD2000 LNB Dongles directly.  This offers a cost-effective way for subscribers living in the apartments or community to watch the popular contents such as BeIN, OSN etc. over the regular sat STB or the appointed sat decoder by installing a LNB dongle at its RF port.  Due to the built-in 1550nm filter, GFD2000 can be installed at the sat decoder RF port directly even if the subscriber has no GPON/XGPON ONU.
