Product Description

GWD800 is a digital IP to QAM modulator in 19” 1RU chassis, designed to address the growing demand of a compact, high density and cost effective mini headend for commercial TV systems. GWD800 consists of maximum 3pcs SKD180X modulator modules, each SKD180X module outputs 4 RF carriers, controlled either by the front panel LCD and buttons or by the network management port.  The IP input supports UPD, IGMP V2/V3 and TS re-muxing.  One GWD800 can convert IP contents to maximum 12ch QAM RF signals. The QAM RF output supports DVB-C (J.83A/B/C), DVBT, ATSC.

The main contents of any mini headend are coming from satellites, internet, terrestrial TV and local cameras. Mini-head should select the wanted video from satellite and internet, mux the selected video in the new TS. Since more and more smart TVs can receive digital QAM RF signals directly, it makes more senses for commercial TV operators to convert DVB-S/S2 to QAM, convert IP to QAM and convert local cameras to QAM. The combined QAM RF can be easily distributed over coaxial (or fiber) cable in any residential buildings at an economical way, broadcasting SD and HD videos without extra STB before smart TV.
